ચક્રવાત મોકા બાંગ્લાદેશના દરિયાકાંઠે પહોંચી ગયું છે. જેના કારણે મ્યાંમારના ઘણા વિસ્તારોમાં પણ ભારે વરસાદ પડી રહ્યો છે. બીબીસી અનુસાર અહીં 195 કિમી પ્રતિ કલાકની ઝડપે પવન ફૂંકાઈ રહ્યો છે. જે 250 કિમી પ્રતિ કલાક સુધી પહોંચી શકે છે. બાંગ્લાદેશના હવામાન વિભાગે કહ્યું- મોકા છેલ્લા 2 દાયકામાં દેશમાં ત્રાટકનારું સૌથી શક્તિશાળી તોફાન બની શકે છે.

વર્લ્ડ મેટ્રોલોજિકલ ઓર્ગેનાઈઝેશન અનુસાર જો ચક્રવાતને કારણે પૂર કે ભૂસ્ખલન થાય છે તો તે બાંગ્લાદેશ-મ્યાંમાર સરહદ પર સ્થિત રોહિંગ્યા શરણાર્થી શિબિરને નષ્ટ કરી શકે છે. આ શરણાર્થી શિબિરમાં લગભગ 8 લાખ 80 હજાર રોહિંગ્યા રહે છે. 5 લાખ લોકોને સલામત સ્થળે ખસેડવામાં આવ્યા છે
