ગુજરાત રાજ્યમાં સામાજિક અને શૈક્ષણિક રીતે પછાત વર્ગના આર્થિક રીતે પછાત વર્ગ વિચરતી મુક્ત જાતિ, અનુસૂચિત જાતિ અને અનુસૂચિત જનજાતિના તેજસ્વી વિદ્યાર્થીઓને માધ્યમિક અને ઉચ્ચતર માધ્યમિક સ્તરે વધુ સારું શિક્ષણ આપવાના ઉદ્દેશ્ય સાથે 34 આદર્શ નિવાસી શાળાઓ છે. શાળાઓની યાદી “examjayangujrat gov.in” પર ઉપલબ્ધ છે. આ શાળાઓમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓને શિક્ષણ, રહેઠાણ, ભોજન, ગણવેશ, બુટ-મોજા, સ્ટેશનરી જેવી તમામ સુવિધાઓ વિનામૂલ્યે આપવામાં આવે છે.

A student applying for admission must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous year’s annual examination.
In case of girls students who have secured 45% marks can apply.
Anu. Caste/Sec. Applicants who have secured 45% marks in the previous year result in case of children of Jan Caste/Socially and Educationally Backward Classes of More Backward/Extremely Backward/Nomadic Freed Castes and children of disabled, widows and full sisters can apply.
If the annual income of the father/guardian of the student is up to Rs.6,00,000/- they can apply.
