Harvard University, The Best University in America
Harvard University is located at Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is located three miles west from Boston. It covers 209 acres and houses 10 schools that offer degrees, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, two theaters, as well as two other theaters. Five museums are located on the campus, which also contains the largest academic library system with approximately 18 million volumes, 180,000 serial titles and 10,000,000 photos.
Harvard was founded to train clergy, as were many American colleges before the Civil War. Harvard’s curriculum became increasingly secularized, and Harvard’s student population was soon secularized. Admission policies were made more open to accommodate more applicants in the 20th century.
The university is home to 21,000 students today. Every student can be seen walking past John Harvard statue at any moment, which is the university’s founder, and first benefactor.
Harvard is reserved only for elite academics. Harvard’s tuition is prohibitive. Harvard’s substantial endowment allows for generous financial aid packages, which are used by approximately 60% of Harvard students.
